Jay Blackinton

A forager, farmer, and James Beard nominated Chef, Jay is a man of the Earth. When not committing his time to world-renown Orcas Island restaurant Houlme, he is being awesome with his family or playing music.

Having been in bands on and off since he was a kid playing anarcho-punk shows in Anacortes and Seattle, Jay’s musical tastes are as wide and deep as the Puget Sound that produced him. From humble beginnings with Bow+Arrow, to heavy experimental folk-punk group Onodrim, to his most recent time touring and performing with The Microphones, Jay Blackinton’s knowledge of wine and local seaweeds is rivaled only by his dedication to creativity.
