Oct. 15, 2019: "Area 51," by Matt Halvorson
On Jan. 28, 2019, an “unnamed man” busted through the checkpoint at the military base known as Area 51 in his car. The man made it roughly eight miles before continuing his flight on foot, at which point he was shot and killed, according to the Department of Energy press release, by the private security guards and local law enforcement that had been chasing him. Shot and killed. Yikes.
I visited the Area 51 area (see what I did there?) with my family recently, and it was fascinating. We stayed a night in the town of Rachel, Nevada, at the Little A’Le’Inn. We enjoyed breakfast and lunch in the cafe, and we checked out the barriers and the intimidating signs and the mysterious road that disappears into the hills out by the military hideout. We didn’t see any spacecraft… that we know of. It was honestly well worth the visit. Super memorable.
Anyway, here’s a song for the unnamed man who was gunned down back in January making a mad dash for the truth.
