Sept. 24, 2019: "A Stone's Throw Away," by Matt Halvorson

If the unexpected happens and I’m gone before we meet again, don’t be alarmed.
It’s okay for things to change.

But know this: I’ve loved you so, and it’s meant the world to me to know
You in this way in this life.

To my person, of all people, I have always wanted one more day.
Today I feel the same.

To my mother and my brother, my father and my sisters, to my dear friends:
I am nothing but your love.

I don’t know what I might find, but when I say always, I mean always.
So no matter how departed I seem, how dead and gone,
Skip a rock and we’ll agree
That if you need me, just call me.

You’ll see that I’ll be always
A stone’s throw away.

To my children: Before the heavens and the Earth were formed,
I love you. The beginning has no end.

And also, I’ve left you a secret mission with a map and crystals.
Enjoy. See you on the other side.

I don’t know what I might find, but when I say always, I mean always.
So no matter how departed I seem, how dead and gone,
Skip a rock and we’ll agree
That if you need me, just call me.

You’ll see that I’ll be always
A stone’s throw away.

If you need me, you’ll find me.

I swear that I’ll be always
A stone’s throw away.
