Sept. 25, 2019: "Protagonistically," by Mr. Ben

Life’s a book.
We keep turning pages.
Have a look,
And the words will change us.

Chapters pass us by
Bringing new surprises
Like the subtitle:“five years later”
What happened in the interim to the main character?

Protagonistically, we read each sentence.
Themes come and go, and come again.
And go again.

Remember that small interaction from
Their visit to that setting in chapter one?
The way the author described all the senses
Left a real impression.

I lost the plot there for a minute,
I read too much into what turned out to be
The reddest of all herrings,
But now it’s back to me.
Now I’ve got my bearings.

It can make laugh,
It can be heartwrenching
Life’s a book
Each has its ending.
